Users who have studied the Youth Pulls have found indications that Youth Pulls in Hattrick are not completely random and that more teams have streaks of luck (or bad luck) than can be explained by a normal random distribution. We have now investigated the Youth Pull algorithm and found that this could in fact be the case. There is a very slight tendency of Youth Pulls to repeat over time for a given team. There is also a very slight probability that the player one pulled would be exactly the same as one one pulled earlier (a clone).
We have now changed the algorithm, so that this no longer happens. (For you programmers out there: The new algorithm uses neither the Team ID, nor the time of the Youth Pull to construct the random seed, but uses unique and random seeds for each Youth Pull.)
We hope you understand that we cannot compensate players who have been a little too lucky (or for that matter fine teams that have been a little too unlucky). The effect has been very small and it would take a lot of development resources to find out what teams have had a slight advantage or disadvantage.
We want to emphasise that the players created with the new algorithm are on average as good as the old ones. It is just the random distribution that has been made a little better for the individual teams. This means that this change will not affect Hattrick's economy.
Thanks, HT-Thomas, for coming up with the new algorithm.

Commenti?
